| Restoration is Complete, Grand Opening on May 6, 2006 |

 Restoration is complete and the Vlotburg Museum Ship will be open to the public beginning May 6th, 2006. After over three years, the reconstruction and restoration of the Museum Ship Vlotburg is nearing an end. The museum will open to the public for the first time on May 6th, 2006 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.
The museum houses exhibits from the Middle Ages, including carefully reconstructed period rooms based on designs originating from that time. 
Exhibits and displays include:
- Blacksmiths in the Middle Age
- Houses of the Middle Ages
- Weapons, Spears and Lances
- Daily life during the Middle Ages and much, much more
